A house rule is a department's rules of conduct that all residents must adhere to. It ensures that living in the housing department is pleasant and that daily life functions smoothly.
All housing units at Haderslev Boligselskab have house rules. A house rule is a set of common rules that are necessary for good neighborliness and social life in the housing unit. It is your responsibility as a tenant to ensure that you and any children and guests comply with the rules and do not disturb the other residents.
It's in the house rules.
The residents of the department themselves help to formulate the house rules at the department meeting, so house rules may differ from department to department.
For example, a house rule may contain rules for:
- Waste management
- Use of common areas and community building
- Bicycles and strollers
- Shared facility
- Pets
- Play and ball games
- Music and noisy behavior
- Parking and motoring
- Care of gardens
- Smoking
- Laundry
- Tools
Special rules for pets
In some housing units, the residents have decided that pets are not allowed. This will be stated in the house rules if this is the case. However, despite a ban, you are welcome to have so-called "small animals" such as a hamster, budgies, fish, mice in a cage, spiders in a terrarium and the like.
"Small animals" should be understood as animals that always stay inside the home - if they go outside the door, they are not allowed. And they must not bother your neighbors.
If the house rules are not followed
If you do not comply with the house rules, you can ultimately have your lease terminated. Read more about the landlord's right to terminate here.
If you believe that one of your neighbors is not complying with the house rules in your unit, you have the opportunity to complain. This must be done in writing.
