At Haderslev Boligselskab, your expenses for electricity, water and heating depend on how much you use. You pay a so-called down payment each month, and when the year is over, we look at whether you have paid too much or too little.
Payment for electricity, water and heating
You don't necessarily pay the same amount for electricity, water and heating as your neighbor. The amount depends on how much you use. You pay an advance payment each month that covers the water and heating consumption you are expected to have – it is calculated based on what has been used in the home in previous years. The amount is charged on top of the rent. You typically pay electricity directly to the electricity company.
Changes in the amount
Since we calculate the down payment based on your total annual consumption, the amount will change from one year to another if you have used more or less water or heat than in previous years. For example, you may have used more heat if the winter has been particularly cold.
Notification of changes
Haderslev Boligselskab's board and management have decided that all consumption accounts must be notified according to the individual tenant's consumption plus an expected percentage increase, which is currently 10%.
Furthermore, utility companies adjust the prices of electricity, water and heating every year, so you may experience that the price of, for example, electricity increases even if you have not used more than you usually do.
As a general rule, you cannot change your prepayment amount for water and heating yourself. In some cases, we will change your prepayment, for example if a room in your home is blocked off, or if people move in or out of the home, and consumption is therefore expected to be higher or lower. We charge a fee for changing your prepayment.
Money back
If you have used less water and/or heating than expected when the annual consumption statement arrives and you need money back, it will be offset against next month's rent.
If the amount is greater than your rent, you can have the excess amount transferred to the account you provided when moving in or to your NemKonto. Kontakt servicecenter Haderslev, if it becomes relevant to you.
The electricity bill typically comes directly from the electricity company.
Extra payment
If you have used more water and/or heating than expected when the annual consumption statement arrives, we will charge the extra amount together with the rent one month after you receive the letter with the consumption statement. If the amount exceeds DKK 1.000, it will be automatically divided over three months.
We will send you the annual statement.
The account of your water and heating consumption is based on the supplier's annual statement for the entire department. We will send you the part of the consumption account that applies to your home no later than four months after the cut-off date.
The cut-off date for consumption may differ from department to department. For example, if your department has an accounting cut-off date of September 30, you will receive your annual consumption statement no later than four months later, in this example on January 31. Here you can see the consumption you have had from October 1 of the previous year until September 30 of the following year.
Should Haderslev Boligselskab receive the annual statement from the supplier for water and heating so late that we cannot send your account within the deadline, we will send it to you no later than three months from the date we have received the annual statement from the supplier. In practice, this means that if the utility company does not send the statement on time, Haderslev Boligselskab will send the annual statement as soon as possible.
Haderslev Boligselskab has no influence on when your electricity company sends you the annual statement of your consumption.
Questions about consumption
If you have any questions about the consumption statement, you should contact the company that is responsible for, for example, supplying your heating and who has prepared the accounts. These can be companies such as Brunata, Techem, Minol, Palle Mørch or Ista. You can see their contact information on your consumption statement or on the companies' own websites.
Complaint
If you do not agree with the consumption account, you can complain – or object, as it is called. Please note the following:
- The complaint must be submitted in writing within six weeks of receiving the accounts.
- In the complaint, you must describe precisely which points of the consumption account you disagree with.
